Sexual Consent and the Law
Sexual consent violations appear to be growing in our BDSM communities, while laws are becoming more mature in the definition of consent and more reflective of what we have been teaching for decades.
Below are links to Australian legal definitions of consent that every person should be familiar with regardless of whether they practice BDSM. In addition, BDSM teaches that ANY FORM OF TOUCHING ANOTHER PERSON WITHOUT CONSENT IS A TYPE OF ASSAULT. We negotiate boundaries for good reason. Be aware, be respectful and make sure that any activity is desired and agreed to by all parties.
