KonKurrent Released – Free Events Management for Australian BDSM Communities

On 20 November KNOTbound released a new free events management platform called KonKurrent to BDSM communities across Australia .

Why did we develop KonKurrent?

The BDSM community in Australia has had a heavy reliance on non Australian based systems to manage it’s events. These systems, while not ideal, have allowed our communities to grow, develop and market to a wider audience classes, workshops, clubs, parties and munches  At times these systems have undergone alterations, been shut down without warning or removed any content relating to BDSM from their sites, causing stress to our communities and loss of one of our primary ways of reaching people with whats on in our communities.  KonKurrent was developed as a local platform by people who have a vested interest in the Australian BDSM scene.   As KNOTbound is a non profit organisation, development and access decisions are made on what will best benefit our communities rather than what will make the most revenue or financial return.

What does it do for event organisers?

It makes setting up and managing events easier for our event organisers with more functionality than currently exists in other free to use systems.  All functionality is tailored to the unique nature of our BDSM events, whether a munch, a play club or a private event.

What does it do for event participants?

KonKurrent has additional search functionality to make it easy for users to find events close or far, of a particular type or with specific rules.  It preserves anonmity of the user while still allowing event organisers to easily contact attendees with changes to or additional information.

Who can use KonKurrent?

Any organiser of events for Australian BDSM communities can use KonKurrent.  Anyone who wishes to participate in Australian BDSM events can use concurrent to find events.  We hope that KonKurrent will become a one stop shop for people in Australia seeking munches, clubs, workshops and other BDSM related events.

Whats in the Future?

Future releases will have additional functionality such as the ability to send feedback on an event to an event organiser, customisation of event listings by event organisers and links to free or low cost ticketing solutions that meet the specialised needs of our communities.  There is more but we are also looking forward to hearing from you what you would like to see it do.
