Midsumma Pride Parade – We Were There!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to the festival committee team members for boldly and proudly walking our banner down St Kilda in blistering 40+ heat.  We’d also like to thank the community members who joined us to show solidarity.  It was an interesting experience as many people along the way were clearly not sure how to react. We did have a burst of loud and vocal support from one segment of the crowd.  We noted that the announcers who where commenting on each group as they went by skipped mentioning us.  We still have a long way to go for community acceptance but each festival, each parade, each conversation, each connection, bring us one step closer to living free of fear in our lifestyle.  

We’re going to keep on walking.  Keep on talking.  Keep on educating.  Keep on standing tall in our choices and our lives.  

We hope each year more people will walk with us and help us show the world we’re neither ashamed nor afraid because of who we are and how we live.
