What We’re Up To

It’s been quite awhile since we posted an update on what we’re doing at KNOTbound. We’re going to try to give a weekly update as we go forward.

Currently we have the following projects in progress:

  • Getting all magazines into archival slip cases which includes removing staples. Staples rust over time and damage the magazines. We’re about a third of the way through.
  • Entering all magazines into our catalogue. All but a few Australian magazines have been entered and about a third international magazines. We will have updates on our website when this is completed, listing magazines and their issues and which ones we are seeking for the collection.
  • We have finally been able to purchase an A3 1200 dpi flatbed scanner. Yay! We can now scan large publications and flat items with high quality resolutions. This will help us in publishing images, having exhibitions and digitizing all our publications. It will also aid in research and publishing historical articles.
  • We are partnering with Adelaide Leather & Fetish to put on an archival exhibition toward the end of the year. Watch this space for more information.
  • We have recently had discussions with the owners of the Court of Reflection and The Club about strengthening support and building a stronger relationship. We will have more particulars about this soon.
  • Our IT people are working diligently on providing us with better digital infrastructure support. The ABA is an incredible collection that needs constant maintenance. This is a big step forward in securing our digital records into the future.
  • Our website is in the process of a significant redesign which we expect to roll out in the next six months. We hope this will make it easier and more exciting to engage with us.
  • Last, we continue work on our next game release. There is a lot of work still to be done before we can release specific information but trust us, it’s all in progress.
